Who’d have put money on vinyl making a comeback? And out of those, who’d have put money on flexi discs making a comeback? You’d be pretty rich if you did! Whilst vinyl has never gone away for some, there’s a whole new audience of hipsters and happening bods that have got into vinyl, and record manufacturers are only too happy to repress the represses of the represses of the perennial favourites (If I see another pressing of Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis, Never Mind The Bollocks, Sex Pistols, Dark Side of the Moon (you get the drift) then I’ll scream. Whilst there are new emerging bands released on vinyl, the majors are pushing out the same old fodder. Their cash-cow is ready for milking…again. Stick to life on Bandcamp for some great original music.
However, the flexi market has seen more creativity in the 21st Century with new labels with new rostas using the flexi to promote their wares. A favourite here is Joyful Noise who use the medium to full effect. Not only are they things of joy to look at, but they actually sound good too! Alright, still not up to good quality vinyl standards, but an enjoyable listen anyway. The following galleries feature a selection that we’ve acquired.

Not only a great listen but a lovely playful item. I really covet this and doff my cap to the boys and girls at Joyful Noise. Beautifully presented, almost good enough to eat!
