Launched in 1980 and lasting just two years, each issue had a flexi-disc featuring notable bands of the day. Many of the flexis were released in several colours, making the die-hard fan spend more. Most bands were New Wave veering toward the pop end of the spectrum. 1981 saw the launch of the first commercial Cd: Abba – The Visitors and in ’82 Billy Joel’s 52nd St was the first commercial success on Cd. This was the death bell for Flexis as everyone wanted the “indestructible” Cd which replaced the cassette and flexi as a cheap freebie.
